Jag håller på att sammanställa en världsatlas som ska bestå av fullständigt subjektiva och tidsspecifika representationer av beständiga platser. Jag är intresserad av att fånga de avtryck som uppstår i tid och rum när människor rör sig på, och mellan, olika platser. Jag vill fråga: vad är egentligen relevant information om en plats? Och vem har rätten att bestämma det?
För att få med så många ytor och människor som möjligt i atlasen behöver jag din hjälp.
Gör såhär:
Välj en sträcka som du ofta avverkar i din vardag: Håll en penna mot ett papper medan du befinner dig i rörelse. Du kan till exempel gå, cykla, åka bil, buss, tåg, flygplan…… Låt sedan de rörelser som kommer av själva förflyttningen rita sin egen karta genom dig. Du flyttar alltså inte pennan utan låter den bara följa med i rörelserna. Rikta din uppmärksamhet mot den omgivande geografin. Din karta är färdig när du är framme, när rörelsen upphör, eller när förflyttningens rörelser får pennan att glida av papperet. Skriv tid (datum + klockslag) och plats (mellan vilka platser) som kartan avbildar. Skriv också en kommentar hämtad från stunden som kartan tillkommit i. Det kan vara något du hörde, såg, kände, luktade eller tänkte.

MAPPING INSTRUCTIONS
I intend to map my surroundings. To capture the print that appears in time and space when people move around in the world. I want to create an atlas that holds totally subjective and situation specific representations of fixed geografical places. I want to ask; What is the relevant information about a place? Who is given the right to decide?
To be able to cover as many places and people as possible, I need your help.
Please follow the instructions:
Choose a section which you often cover. Put a pen to a piece of paper while you are in movement between the (two) places. For example walking, riding, or in a car, an airplane or on a train. Let the movement that is created by your journey transfer itself into a pattern on the paper. Do not move the pen on purpose but just let it follow whatever movement occurs. Focus on the surroundings, don´t look at what your ”drawing” until it´s done. It is done when either the movement stops or it makes the pen go off the paper.
When this happens, write down the place(s), what kind of movement and the time your map is representing. Also, add a comment taken from the moment of mapping, to preserve your specific moment in the geography.
